What to wear?

Picture
While it is largely up to you, there are some things that you might want to keep in mind:
- bold, busy patterns tend to be distractive, solids or subtle patterns work best
- avoid green when preparing for a session in the park, you do not want to blend in with the scenery
- white can make fair-skinned people look a little washed out
- darker colors (not just black, but brown, deep blue, dark red...) can help draw attention to your face.

What to bring?

You'd be amazed what a difference props can make!  Especially for children.  A favorite toy or two, some bubbles, an umbrella or a lollipop can give a child something natural to do, relax and entertain them, while also setting a mood and allowing for playful combinations.
Even for adults, props can be both helpful (they give you something to do with your hands) and personal.
If you do not have time or desire to do wardrobe changes, do not underestimate the power of such "props" as vests, jackets and hats.  They can provide a different look without the hassle of changing outfits.

Where to go?

Well, I'm relatively new to the area, so I will update this section as I discover more places.  So far, I have done sessions in downtown Annapolis and Quiet Waters Park, and both are fantastic choices.  I have also done some pictures in Crofton that I was quite happy with, in the most random places.  And of course, D.C. offers quite a variety of amazing locations to choose from.
